For me the swimming pool and Newcastle diet saved my life. Thanks Pipp.
I actually went with the family to Alton Towers today and felt so much more energetic than few weeks ago. Although still very overweight I felt positive and less self-conscious. Was glad of the near stone loss when the barriers came down on some of the rides I can tell you! I froze my shake, which not only helped to keep everyone else's snaries cool, but tasted lush when shaken up like a crush drink.
Next goal to get confidence up to get in the swimming pool with my children and get back on a horse (without crushing the poor thing!) Actually think this diagnosis could have been exactly what I needed.
Hope everyone else is doing okay - I haven't quite got the just of threads backwards and forwards, but am aware that some regulars have been very poorly, So my best wishes to all.
I've never been the same since a donkey ran away with me on Blackpool beach :-(Not sure I could be enthusiastic about horse riding. I am allergic and one nasty one bit me once, but would say to you if that is one of your goals then plan for it. You will do it.
Well done.
Peacetrain, you are as barmy as me. What the heck, I think you are high on endorphins! How are you managing to stay up so late and then go an teach those little darlings next morning? Plus all that lunchtime zumba! Whatever you are taking, I want some!I've never been the same since a donkey ran away with me on Blackpool beach :-(

You are doing so brilliantly well,@paulins. Especially considering everything else you have going on.Now lost 62 lbs! Got into size 14 jeans today so very happy. But awaiting results from HbC1a test done a few days ago. So hope it is good news. Now, don't laugh! I can now do one hour on the treadmill, nearly 5k, and am thinking about doing a 10k next year to raise money for cancer research. I am trying to get as fit as possible before my surgery on 7th July, and hope this means that after a couple of days recuperation I can get back on the machine and not take too long to get back to where I was before the operation. I asked the surgeon how long I needed to avoid exercise, and he said I could do whatever I was comfortable with, but no hard running as although he could do brilliant internal stitches and the actual wound is glued (yes, glued!) together, and vigorous exercise might burst all his hard work. Ha ha! Has he met me? Hard running? Me? I think he was being funny.

I am sure you will be in peak condition for the surgery. I probably won't be able to post for a while, going to a place where wifi and broadband are erratic, so wish you well, and will be thinking about you, and looking forward to hearing how you are recovering.
Be well

Oh dear,I expect your sister is just very worried for you. I don't think everyone appreciates 'gallows' humour. Keep laughing.Thank you Pipp! What a lovely message. I hope you enjoy your trip, and I will definitely let you know how it goes. I just want it over now, as although in real terms I have not waited long it seems as if it has been months already. The next time we exchange messages I will hopefully be cancer free! I am determined to be positive and take this on in the same way as we have all been attacking our diabetes.
Yesterday I said to my sister that a cancer diagnosis was great for the diet. She was not amused!

Hi Pipp and Paulins, I am around but rather busy at work and now going on holidayWell done on the weight loss, I seem to have ground to a halt at 12st13lb and can't seem to shift it. However, I seem to be having to tighten my belt still so must be muscle growth. My newest trousers are now too big for me and I am on the penultimate extra hole I drilled in my very long belt (did 9 of them). Blood sugars still doing great and even after pie and chips I only see numbers in the 7s which I think is great.
Still got my fingers crossed for you paulins...
Oh and I have now joined amazon prime to watch all the movies and tv shows on there whilst on the treadmill
Currently re-watching the V seasons but have also bought the "4400" series on DVD
I bought fairly cheap ones from LIDL and a long extension cable from amazon. You quite often have to switch a modern TVs over to the headphones as it doesn't happen automatically.
Enjoy the hol. I think you can be proud of what you have achieved.
