Newcastle diet food for type 1 ??

I just need to know what’s good to eat been trying to see a specialist for about 7 months now and can’t get referred so I have no diet plan and eating all the wrong stuff

I don't understand your question. Do you know what the Newcastle diet is? It's a severe calorie restriction diet to treat type 2 diabetes, Do you know what type 1 is? It's an autoimmune disease where the immune system kills off beta cells in the pancreas, it is not treated by reducing fat around the pancreas. Why do you think you need a diet plan? Type 1s can eat normally. If you think you're eating "all the wrong stuff", then look at adjusting your diet to a healthy balanced diet the same as would be recommended for anyone else. What are you eating?

perhaps you could tell us a bit more about yourself ?
how long diagnosed type 1 ?
what age range are you ?
what sort of "wrong foods" are you currently eating ?

For myself , I tend to eat a light breakfast -- a couple of scrambled eggs and a slice of toast
lunch will usually be a salad with lettuce , tomato , cucumber , avocado , spring onion , celery , radish.
and a bowl of soup.
evening meal will be a grilled chicken breast , some boiled or mashed potato , and 3 or 4 steamed veg - like cauliflower , broccoli , carrots , cabbage , courgette etc.
 
Was born with type 1 I’m now 27
By wrong foods I mean I have never been told what to eat I know ovi not to eat sweets and that kinda stuff but also don’t know how to carb down I’m a unstable diabetic so my sugars are alleays in double figures

There is no "what to eat" for type 1 diabetes. The advice for type 1s is the same as advice to anyone else: eat a normal healthy balanced diet.

I'm not sure what you mean by "carb down", what is this?

How are you currently managing your diabetes? What insulins are you on? Are you carb counting? Are you under your GP or under a hospital endocrinologist? Have you been in any structured education on diabetes?

If your numbers are always in double figures that doesn't sound like "an unstable diabetic". It sounds like someone who isn't controlling and doesn't understand how to control their diabetes.

Type 1 isn't controlled by diet. The Newcastle diet isn't for type 1 diabetics - it won't help you. What will help is learning a bit more about more about type 1 and how to manage it. Have you read the book "think like a pancreas"? That's a good practical guide to the basics of what you need to know to manage type 1. If you're not currently under a hospital endo ask for a referral and seek some guidance from a DSN on how to improve control and ask for a place on a DAFNE course.

Also, no one is "born with" type 1. For example, in 2014 the youngest person to be diagnosed with type 1 was 6 months old and that was literally newsworthy -http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/toddler-kept-alive-jelly-babies-4640037 . If you are diagnosed in the first few months of life then investigations into neonatal diabetes should be undertaken. How old were you when you were diagnosed?
 
18 months and I’m under hospital and all the and don’t know how to carb count it’s something that should have showed me when I was younger now I have no feeling in my feet

What insulins are you on?

If you are on a basal/bolus regieme then your basal should be keeping you flat-ish when you aren't eating or bolusing. You should do some basal testing to check you are on the right basal dosage. Here is a guide on how to basal test - https://mysugr.com/basal-rate-testing/

You should also ask your DSN for guidance on correction doses if you are always in double figures and for their guidance on how to improve control/ how quickly to improve control (because tightening control too quickly could result in false hypos and temporary worsening of neuropathy symptoms) and you should ask for a place on a DAFNE course.

thanks for those replies.

as @catapillar says - you can eat a normal healthy diet. ( I always aim for 5 portions of fruit and veg per day , a portion of meat at most evening meals , cheese , yoghurts , .
Do you do any cooking yourself ??

do talk to your Diabetic nurse and keep pestering until she gets you an appointment with the dietician and she gets you on a DAFNE course.
