Hello everyone! I am a newbie here, 38 years old and recently (2 months ago) diagnosed with type 2 and immediately put on Metformin (500mgx3)
I researched the efficacy of newcastle diet and wanted to take to it before condemning myself to medicines at this point in my life and two GPs came back with a strict no.
So I started the diet 11 days back without support from the local docs.
Doing okay so far but needed clarifications on a couple of things
1. Some threads and articles on the diet say the vegetables had can have spices added but no salt. But the diet paper with the sample recipes from NCL doesn't mention anything about salt. I have been adding salt obviously and want to know if it's a no no and why, if so
2. Once the 8 week period is over, how slowly should one get back to a regular balanced diet?
Have lost 8 lbs to date and my sugar levels are dropping (7.0 to 5.0 in 12 days) and don't want to risk not seeing benefits becos of the salt thing.
Thanks in advance
