Hi, guys, I'm new here and have just started the Newcastle diet (I'm on day 2) I have a question though that I can't seem to find the answer to online. Am I allowed to drink squash whilst on the plan, I don't really like the taste of plain water so I've been adding sugar-free/or low sugar orange squash. Is that ok? Has anyone else done this?

ND is all about calorie restriction so if it fits into your 800 cals per day then I guess it should be ok.

Hi Meg, on this plan your basically reducing your bodys supply of sugar, from food and drink. This forces you body to break down fat to create its own sugar.

Taking squash will hamper this process to a small degree, but unless your drinking an ocean of the stuff I can't imagine it will make any real difference to you.
