Newly Diagnosed but making progress

Hi Paul

Have no idea what the numbers mean but if it means a positive result then its a good indication of being Type 1 or 1.5. Just to be even more confusing if it is negative it doesn't work in reverse so a negative can't rule out that you maybe Type 1 or 1.5.

Glad you are getting yourself sorted out though. If the insulin is now keeping you safe and well that's great news. Having to be on insulin doesn't stop you doing anything you want to.

Wow! You certainly have been given the run around by the NHS, fairly give you confidence - not! Lets hope they have their act together and you can get the help you need. I'm exhausted just reading your trials.

Hello all once again for hopefully final update on my ongoing diagnosis!

Latest bloods show ALT is down again. Still elevated but getting less so every week so they are happy again that nothing untoward going on. I've been released from regular full workups and get a month off going into Hospital. Next steps will be DAFNE course and on to long term successful insulin management of my Diabetes.

Great news before Easter!

Good luck to those in good health and strength for those who are not!

Paul

Mary,

Type 1 or Type 1.5 not sure. My GAD was very positive so definately that. As both are insulin requiring I'm not really bothered which!

When I was diagnosed, my doctor said that I was T1... or you could say 1.5. My official diagnosis is T1 . There is no official designation of T1.5 (and I've seen in cover at least 3 different types of diabetes on forums). It is very obvious though given my history that I had LADA.
