Hi - I am currently involved in research at Bristol for the NHS as I am a type 1. The doctors are looking for newly diagnosed to participate in this research, so within the last 3 months. I am nearing the end of my rsearch and feel compelled to help them find more type 1's as I have found the support and care to be amazing. It has really helped me learn more about my condition but also to be monitored carefully so early on and have any question answered, I visit them every 2 weeks.

If you are newly diagnosed this would be so useful to help you get to grips with your diagnosis and get the support you need, please drop me a line and I'll put you in touch. Thanks.

Hi Justine!

I'm going to get the word out about this for you through from iCare Diabetes if that is fine with you. I'd love to help you find other's that are available to participate. I would just need a little bit information to help them get in contact with you.

Hi Bridget,

Sorry about the delay responding - I sign on every couple of weeks to check replies.

In regards to replies for this, the best way to contact me is to click on PM for private message.

I really cannot do enough for the team involved in this research, from a newly diagnosed point of view i've seen a doctor every 2 weeks, had my HbAC1 checked every other month, talked to them about everything that's affected my sugar levels and treatment and been able to regularly monitor my insulin levels to ensure i'm on top of it, in return i've been involved in peptide research which contributes to a greater understanding about type 1 and treatment.

I know it's a huge amount for a newly diagnosed to take on board with the type 1 knowledge, but having this one to one care really helps contribute to taking ownership of diabetes and getting to grips with it. So happy to point others in this direction to help them also.
