Cheese, meats, bacon and eggs, cream in your meals or in your coffee, nuts, pork scratchings...I get hungry and run out of ideas of what I can snack on that won't increase my blood sugar levels.
Whoops! I should have said that I also have to watch my cholesterol and triglycerides. I am on statins but don't really want to have to up the dose. I've just edited my original post.Anything with protein and fat will be great for your blood sugar.
So meat, fish, eggs, dairy if you like it.
White and brown carbs are pretty similar and aren't great for your blood sugar whatever the colour.

For me, all my lipid results vastly improved after cutting the carbs and upping the fats, without statins. I wouldn't be too sure it's dietary fats causing higher cholesterol.Whoops! The problem I have is that I don't have any weight to lose. I was 8st 3lb at the outset and am now down to 7st 10lb and probably still losing.
I had lost a little bit but had stabilised at 8st 3lb and then got this diagnosis and down it went. I feel it would be better if I could allow myself some more fat. Going back for another test soon and will need to discuss this with them. Have been wondering whether to try not taking the statins as I know there is a lot of suggestion that they can cause pre diabetes. Were you losing weight before the prediabetes diagnosis?
