Newly Diagnosed type 2

Hi Turvell,

I too was diagnosed a few weeks ago. It was a bit of a wake up call to say the least!! I found the best thing was that whenever I thought of something i wanted to know i wrote it down and then asked it when i had my next appt with the nurse/doctor. There is also a phone number on this website for the helpline i think it is 0345 123 2399 and the guys they have on there are brilliant at answering any questions you may have. When you see the nurse next ask her for a prescription for strips as this will cut the cost down

Hello All

I wonder if resources like these are helpful:

https://www.lillypro.co.uk/diabetes/patients/conversation-maps-online/conversation-maps

I don't work for them btw. I am researching approaches to support people who are newly diagnosed. I was sorry to read about Turvell's experiences and wondered what would have made things easier for you while you were adjusting to the news of your diagnosis. Congratulations on doing so well and keeping yourself motivated and optimistic through the forum. The support on the forum is very heartening.

Not really .The nutrition section parrots the old invalid rubbish spouted by DUK et al.

Hi Fergus

Could you expand a bit more on your criticism? That would be really helpful. And thanks for replying!
