Feeling I can never eat anything sweet again or anything with carbs. But thought of diabetes complications scares me more so it is a no brainer!
I was diagnosed last month and have been seriously dieting to get my levels lower and manage without drugs. Yesterday evening before my meal my level was 4.7. But today it was 6.8. How can this be? I ate exactly the same today as yesterday for lunch - vegetable soup! This is so depressing!

Could be levels of exercise, or hydration level, or many other factors. Nothing to worry about . You can't just go on a single reading. I'm sure it will go down again

Hi,
As the above says try not to worry over one reading, there are a thousand and one reasons it could be different;)

That's helpful - thank you! I felt I was making such good progress. I have done exactly the same today as I did yesterday, but then this high level. Takes so little to knock confidence.
