I have been pre diabetic for 4 years but yesterday I was told I am now diabetic after getting a sky high blood sugar level on a recent blood test. I am now taking metformin tablets, before being diagnosed I felt very unwell on a daily basis all my symptoms are down to diabetes. I'm the type of person who loves anything sweet and a big lover of chocolate and carbs  I am struggling to manage my diet because of my sweet tooth problems and I wondered if anyone had any advice on what I should do? I am due to see a dietician next week but in the meantime any advice would be appreciated.Thank you</blockquote>
