Thank you Groundgripper. Yes my supermarket trips are taking an age as I obsess over food labels! When dieting in the past I had always just looked at calories but now learning it's a much wider picture. I so appreciate you and others taking the time to comment, it's helping so much already.
Agreed, it takes me ages to work my way around the supermarket checking the detail on nutritional stats. I was in an Asian store today where they had no such stats which stumped me a bit.
Definitely won't be following slimming world advice blindly. Before diagnosis I was thinking "this is great" as I tucked into copious bowls of "all you can eat" fruit. But, it is good to have a weekly accountability. I am also subvertively imagining that I can possibly help others vulnerable to diabetes, by pointing out the carb fallacy of their plan. The leader might regret asking me to stay!
