My son has been recently diagnosed with type 1 and is very confused as to why it has happened to him. I cannot explain why it has happened to him. Has anyone got any advice for me please.
Acceptance of health treatment claims that are not adequately supported by evidence. I dislike it when people sell ineffective and even harmful alternative health products to exploit the desperation of people with chronic illness.

Previously I thought that T1 diabetes was something that only happened to children and teenagers, but there are a lot of people who get it as adults, right up into the 40s and 50s. There are more than two types of diabetes too.
There are many possible reasons why someone gets T1, such as after a viral infection or as a result of another medical condition or surgery. Sometimes there is no way to know why it happened and that would be hard to deal with, I imagine. The best people can do is ask for help and do their best to manage it well.
