You see many people here mention that their GP is reluctant to prescribe them test strips - I had an appointment today specifically to ask for strips. I had armed myself with all of the arguments for testing prior to going into his office, but as soon as I asked him he said, "yes, of course, how many do you need? Do you want lances as well?" You could have knocked me down with a feather! Anyway, I came home with 200 strips and lances and instructions to phone him as soon as I need more! I had previously had my doubts about this GP because his initial reaction on diagnosis was to push me to get weight loss surgery, but he seems to be totally on board with the low carb approach and eating to my meter.
