hi guys, this is my first post

I am just wondering what the reason behind my recent night hypos may be. The past 3 nights my blood sugar has dropped between 12:30am and 2:00am causing me to have a hypo. I find that these hypos are only occurring during the night whilst I am on my period, this also happened last month as well, does this happen to anyone else and does anyone know why this happens. I have not found that this happens every menstrual cycle just the last couple. Thank you in advance

I normally wake up with a low sugar on the first morning of mine. I don't know why exactly but have always assumed it's the other hormones affecting the insulin in some way?? Would be interested to know more if anyone knows

hi Naomi_96 and BeccyB
not much specific help on this one other than hormones can affect BG's
am tagging a few lovely people i know that may be able to offer some support on this topic.
@Mrsass , @mammamia2006 , @Robinredbreast
also bumps it for people reading tonight

Its caused by the hormone changes, 1st day of my period, my levels are perfect then go all over the place so I have to change the doses of Lantus and novorapid that I take then afterwards, go back to usual levels.

Hi @Naomi_96 this happens to me too, you're definitely not alone :) as @mammamia2006 said its due to hormone changes, I stay like that pretty much throughout my period I get much lower than usual readings, few hypos, I use it as a good excuse to indulge but I'm naughty like that lol have you tried adjusting your insulin? X
