Night Insulin

By “night insulin”, I assume you mean “basal”.
With a pump, the basal dose is constantly given as a slow drip of fast acting insulin.
There is no slow acting insulin on a pump at any time of the day.

The advantage of this approach is the ability to adjust the basal dose throughout the day to manage things like dawn phenomenon, exercise, etc.

No. You use the one pump insulin all the time as bachground basal. Change dose to account for food.
