night shift with diabetes

I got diagnosed with diabetes type 2 a couple of months ago which then I was unemployed and I was taking my medication in morning and at tea but now ive got a job and its night work 3 nights in and 3 nights off and so on and I want to know if anyone can give me any idea when will the best times to take medication so I can keep it at same time each day

Roy - I couldn't advise on the timings of your meds, but I might think if there is a time I could still take meds at the same time every day, whether working or not. Maybe, something like 9am and 9pm? I have no idea how that fits in with your meals, shifts or anything else, but someone will have the experience I don't.

But, I really just popped on to say congratulations on the job, and rejoining the gravy train. I hope it goes really well for you.

thanks andbreath well im working 6 pm til 6am and my first brake like 10:15 and second like 2:15 am so wouldn't be able to take it at 9pm and 9 am as I will be giving it zzzzzzzzzzzzz lol

thanks jackjack412 I am on metformin I thought they had to be 12 hour difference between each dose
 
The slow release metformin can be taken up to 2000 once a day.
The standard metformin is once a day for 500, twice for 1000 and 2-3 times for 1500
So standard met you spread it as best you can and doesn't need to be taken at the same time every day.
Some diabetes drugs are time critical like insulin

im on standard metformin which I take 2 x 500mg twice a day and thanks for info
