Hi,

I have to work night shifts & I'm recently diagnosed (about 10 weeks now), the last set of nights I felt so ill & BG was high teens despite hardly eating. I'm now on double metformin but I can't work out the best times to take the metformin whilst working. Any suggestions please? Thanks

I would take it with your breakfast-type meal you have after you wake up and before you start your shift. If you are on, say, two pills, there might be some benefit to taking one then and the other with your next meal, or it might not make much difference. I'm not sure. I take mine at breakfast time and when I have my evening meal.

Thanks, normally on day shifts I have no problem but on nights I tend not to eat after 1 am until I've gone bed in the morning & woken up in the afternoon. To take one then is too close to taking one when I eat at work on break. This set of nights I've eaten something healthy before I've gone bed but that's not what I would normally do. Thanks anyway
