Morning everyone!

Just wondering if anyone else has this? The past 3 nights I have been woken up absolutely drenched in sweat - this morning I woke up and had to strip the bed before work because the covers were literally soaked through. That's me sleeping with no heating on and the window wide open! I did Google it and saw a lot referring to hypo but if anything my sugars are still quite high at the moment due to just starting to try get back on track taking my insulin. Are high sugar levels related to night sweats too?

Thanks :)

Cait

Hi Cait,

Yes I get this occasionally..
I maybe wrong but I think it's down to the liver dumping glucose during the night, along with other hormone stuff happening which has triggered the aforementioned... "Dawn phenomenon" I think it's called...?
Edit; forgot to add a drop in sugar levels causing a night hypo may have caused this liver dump as a response...?
Kind of like a back up reserve..?

Somebody please stop me if I'm wrong..

Hormones??? I have no idea why this would still affect a guy my age.... Lol

Yep, I know what you mean... o_O
My wife & I don't bother with having a radiator on in the bedroom, even during winter..

The worst thing is on a day off when you get up to put the kettle on & think, I'll have this back in bed..! :banghead:

There is loads of stuff on this forum about it...

Coincidence, but I had a bad night too last night, woke up with heart racing, felt a bit rough. This morning my vision was quite blurry, sugars at 6.4 at 1:18am and also at 5:17 when I woke with the racing heart (tachycardia). I don't know if I dipped between those times. I have experienced the tach before, but it was many months, even over a hear ago when I was doing nothing about my diabetes.

It is continually amazing me what this body of mine is doing. - unfortunately without being attached to a plethora of machines I'll probably never know.

I'm starting to get quite deep into my studies of the endocrine system and it is totally astonishing how it all works (or not!).

Please let us know if you get any insights and I hope you are feeling a bit better now.
