I'm my 86 year old mother's carer. She has type two and is tablet controlled, one Metformin a day. I have found that her blood sugar is very low in the morning so she gets breakfast on rising, two weetabix and stevia plus 125 mls of milk. I have made a chocolate cake using half wholemeal and stevia for carbohydrate and sugar ingredients, I give her this with her midmorning coffee. Then she has a high protein and fibre lunch but doesn't eat a meal before bed so I give her a complan drink. I don't know if this diet affects her night time urine production but it seems to be far more than her intake of fluid. Am I right to be concerned?
