Hi,
I am currently taking 4u Insulatard at night to prevent high fasting blood sugars (as I have GDM, I'm not supposed to go over 5.1). I inject around half ten at night. For the last few days I've woken up with a mild headache / hangover feeling, and I wonder whether I've been having nighttime hypos (from what I've been reading, I might well have been). My morning readings are still a little high.
Am I injecting at around the right time? And if I am overnight hypoing, when would be best to test (is it in any way dependent on what time the insulatard was taken?).
I had no problems in my first pregnancy like this (diagnosed with GDM at 28 weeks, injected novorapid 2xday, insulatard 1xday, all plain sailing), but this pregnancy is much more challenging as my BG levels are swinging around all over the shop in the morning; I seem to be quite insulin-sensitive.
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers
