Is there any possibility you could change over from Prednisolone to a corticosteroid such as Advair 500mg twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Advair is an inhaled corticosteroid.

I take steroids whenI have my chemotherapy and my bg always goes high. When I mentioned it to my dn she suggested increasing my medication on those days like you do. But she also said that if my bg was within my normal range on other days it shouldn't have any long term effects. I hope that helps

Hi I have the same problem,I take 25mgs per day,as I also have copd and a brain condition I cannot come off the steroids,docs are still searching for the right formula,my readings can be high one moment and drop like a stone within a hour,and I can get very short of breath,but keep smiling,the steroids can do wonderful things but some of the side effects are horrible regards clarence

Hiya i am on the lovely prednesolone 15mg at the moment for brittle asthma, be on up to 50mg if i have an infection. I also take methatexate once a week to help.with inflammation. The steroids to strange things with my blood sugar too. It can go from 6-16 without me changing anything. Docs are looking at putting me on med but need to speak with genetic specialist in Oxford cause of my rare genetic condition.
