i am also without my gall bladder and got T2 from the damage it caused my pancreas. I have tried over the past year to eat a little more fat and because my DN said i could have occasional fish and chips, yesterday i had it for lunch, cutting a lot of the batter off........today i am so ill, have felt very sick all day but ate 2 value Weetabix so i could take my medication, but haven't eaten since and can't for the rest of the day. On initial diagnosis i was told to use only 5% saturated fats and 5% sugar and if i stray i suffer, as i am now! Good luck with the LCHF diet, but i personally don't think its for those without a gall bladder - definitely low carbs but not high fat. I wish you wellJust realised as I have embarked on this way of eating whether I should be taking extra care?
I am not having any adverse symptoms etc...juts wondered with eating high fat..
any tips?
i cant cope with full fat - i tried soft cheese, yoghurt and cream........needless to say i spent a long time in the smallest room in our houseI have no gall bladder too, now I don't do the high fat, I just changed my low fat for full fat in stuff, I did it slowly and have not had any trouble, so I would say try it if you have trouble with a particular item then revert to the low fat option.
