No thrush on a diuretic.

I've been recently prescribed furosemide 40mg. Has anyone noticed any thrush or absence of thrush since taking theirs?

I feel I have more evidence that my thrush symptoms at 6yr old was immune related.
I've started another thread to discuss whether losing salt is affecting my immune system so no need to mention that possibility here.

I guess i'd better get my diabetes specialist to do the GAD test and C-peptide test afterall?

I've had thrush once and a stomach yeast infection once, both times it was after a course of strong antibiotics. The theory being that wiping out all the bacteria, good and bad, allowed a yeast infection to take hold.

I can only imagine that passing a lot of water and my memory of Furosemide is that there's a lot of that soon after taking the stuff, might prevent yeast infections from taking hold. Only guessing mind.

It was given for fluid retention in my abdomen and to help keep high blood pressure down but blood pressure didn't change, hence salt lost not making any difference to my acute hypertension.
Which backs up @bulkbiker 's video cardio specialist on recent trial results - lowering too much salt can be detrimental to cardiac care. (No benefit, if too low).
I want to stay on furosemide as no thrush is heaven.
I'm wondering if I should not restrict my salt now and see if my immune system diverts back to normal?

This is only anecdotal and what happened to me. I've had hypertension for 30 years and have avoided salt like the plague in most of those 30 years. However, thanks to various aches and pains and taking soluble cocodomol which has tons of salt, my overall record may not be as good as 30 years ago. On the positive side, probably thanks to an over jealous U.S. MD (might have been after my travel insurance money), I know that my heart is in very good shape "for a man of 60" they said. Great! I'm 65 in a few months. LOL

I have been on furosemide for some while I have had oral thrush a few times while on it.
