I just started this about a month ago. The first sensor failed immediately. Fortunately I still had the old tester and strips left over. FreeStyle replaced the sensor. The second sensor gave erroneous readings for low blood sugar. It claimed 45 when my old meter said 95. They replaced it. The third one popped off when I was changing my tee shirt. There is no way to put the sensor back on and I will call them on that. The next one was another immediate failure. I will call them on that also. I am on the last sensor and my insurance will not renew the prescription until July 10. I will know in 12 hours whether or not it is working.

After a significant "discussion" with FreeStyle, they finally sent me 25 strips free of charge. I was running out of my original supply of strips so they came in handy.

I guess the only reason for them to even have strips is to to compensate for sensor failures and the 12 hour delay with a new one. If nothing else, FreeStyle should give 5 strips with every sensor for that 12 hour delay.

OAPN: I am really satisfied with the Libre when it is working. I was testing five times a day and my finger tips are recovering. When I go to a doctor's office, or am standing in line at the grocery store, I get to show off my Borg implant.

I figure that to prevent the sensor from being popped off, I am going to place an adhesive patch over it to keep it in place and dry. Anyone doing this? Is there a better way? Is there any reason not to do this?

Have had them fall off and had them replaced. Also have had them not come off without removing skin at the same time. I always cover for swimming and if they look like they may be lifting off, with no problems. Some people put coverings over permanently.
You should still be getting some test strips on prescription surely. Get them changed to your new reader. I still test each morning to check the reliability of the reading given by the Libre. Each time it reads very low/high as I wouldn’t treat without knowing BG level. And most importantly before I drive.

Becca - Unless the OP is on hypo inducing drugs, he is unlikely to have strips on prescription at all, never mind those to match the Libre.

Most T2s self-fund all of their monitoring kit.
