Anyone got any ideas for light snacks that contain no carbos?
Sometimes my BS levels are not low enough to allow for food containing carbos so I might cut myself a slice of cheese or something.

It might be of interest if you listed some of your favorite no carbos snacks for those of us who get the munchies between meals.

kind regards
Dave

I like a nice slice of cold meat,i could eat a whole packet no problem.
I don't tend to eat many no carb snack, I'll just cover with insulin and if my BS is a bit high i'll throw in a correction

I like nuts, seeds, veg sticks, tofu, veg soup (homemade - the canned stuff has lots of carbs), olives, grapefruit (doesn't seem to have enough carbs to affect things).

Thanks for the replies guys, I was looking for something different to my regular ideas.
Tofu is something I've never tried as is peppered beef jerky, although I'm not certain about the latter. :)

Please keep the ideas coming as it's a good list so far.

kind regards
Dave

Macadamia nuts! Sainsbury's do 60g packets of roasted salted ones which are great and have less than 3g of carbs. If my blood sugar's just a wee bit low, I can eat a packet with no insulin to cover it and have good stable readings for hours after. A reminder of life before diabetes I suppose.

Pretty much any kind of nuts, but not peanuts. These are a member of the pea family and not a nut at all. They have a much higher carb content than nuts.
