Leptin (hormone) in the fat cells.
Too many fat cells = too much leptin.
Leptin is the satiety hormone not filtered out before reaching the brain.
Brain is being told still hungry or not satisfied?

My son might be going to receive help to switch off his hunger mode.

These new drugs will help insulin dependants too?

I think you may have forgotten some sort of link in this post?

After a quick search for "Leptin" and breaking down your post; there's probably a better alternative to drugs that might not even work.

Exercise to reduce fat.
Reduced fat, reduced leptin.
Reduced leptin, reduced over-eating.

Grant

I may be completely misguided, but I though Leptin rose when we go full and fell back when hungry. To be honest it's not something I have read massive amount of.

All new to me too. I will be keen to see their findings. He has been accepted on a research programme.
Little part of me wonders because they are looking under the genetics of obesity if they'll find some help for me too.
