For the past 5 years my wife and I have had worldwide annual travel insurance with Norwich Union and have had no hesitation in recommending it to others, including on this forum. Our annual renewal is due and when we tried to renew today, we were advised that NU have embarked on a complete change of policy as regards cover for pre-existing conditions. All pre-existing conditions are now EXCLUDED from their cover, regardless of whether NU have covered them previously. There is not even an option to pay more for conditions to be covered - they are simply refusing to insure them.
If you currently have NU travel cover that includes diabetes then you will be covered until this policy expires as they are not allowed to move the goalposts halfway through the game. But when you come to renew, you will need to look elsewhere.
