Hi All,
I have been a T1 diabetic for nearly 10 years now, diagnosed when i was 19. In recent years I have really not being taking care of myself for various reasons (living abroad, laziness, frustration etc.) . I havent had a HbA1c in a long time too scared to go to doctor as i know it will be bad. Anyway I am now taking the decision to get back on track. Started a LCHF diet this week and can already see my numbers improve.

So any tips out there for those of us who are trying to get back to there good days?

Thanks all :)

Do go back to your Dr's and get a Hba1c test carried out so you can work on lowering it from here on, also its vital that you have your kidneys and eyes checked regularly so your HCP's can pick-up on any early changes and act upon them.

Just have a good read around the type 1 and the low-carb sections and any questions do come back and ask, if your on injections then a good all round book to read is Think Like a Pancreas by Gary Scheiner, if your a pump user then Pumping Insulin by John Walsh & Ruth Roberts is a must.

Good luck and hope you manage to get back on track :)
