Not All Fda Approved Glucose Meters On The Market Meet Accuracy Standards

I have a Gmate Smart some where. It actually plugs directly into a smart phone got it more as a novelty than anything. It's so small I kept losing it in my pocket. Never expected much from it as was not disapointed to be proved correct but it was OK in an emergency as you could carry it in your wallet if needs be..

Unless you test a batch of each type of meter, you don't know if a particular model is always accurate/inaccurate or just the particular one you tested.

I expect it has a lot more to do with the test strips then the meters.

On retrospect the Gmate was not that bad when checked against my other meters and did not give outlandish results.

All three of my meters passed the tests, two Accu-Chek's and a Abbot.

Near enough, close enough for me.
