Not sure about taking Metformin

Not sure what to do??, - - this morning I forgot to take my metformin with my breakfast. I have only been taking this for about 4 weeks 2 500mg a day. . What should I do? To take it at lunch time or leave it until tea-time.
Must admit I am controlling my bg count much better. Plus diet and excercise of course.
 
You can take your Metformin with your lunch. there shouldn't be a problem.
Metformin is a pretty safe medicine and other than digestive disturbance, doesn't tend to cause trouble

Thanks Hana, I am sure I will get into a routine of not forgetting!! :D
 
I sometimes forget to have one for breakfast and end up having it with or after my lunch.

How long does it take to get through your system, ie what's the minimum difference in time you can take them together? Can I take it after a late lunch @ 3pm, then have one with tea @ 6 pm?

I take 500mg of normal Metformin BTW. Is it different for the slow release stuff?
