I agree entirely with Hiitsme, its what I did and it worked for me.
When i first started LCHF I was getting morning results in the 12.5 to 13. It took about a week before they regular hit 9 something, and several months to get down in the 5s and 6s, but I am regulalrly in the high 4s to mid 5s first thing in a morning now, and only ever see anything over 7 when I have done something I knew was probably supid, so I carry out additional tests.
I have neuropathy in my feet so I am trying to keep below 7.8 at all times, despite my DN telling me anything in single figures would be fine.
This combined with the usual garbage about healthy eating.....
The biggest shock I got when I first started testing was how bad my morning orange juice was - merely swapping that for blueberry and Cranberry juice probably made as big a difference as the rest of the diet change combined!
