Sorry noblehead forgot to mention i bolused 20 mins after eating roll, just had ham and pickle in it. Did think about basal rate adjustment I've recently had a look at where I could lower rates without raising my overall bloods. I don't really get bad hypo's and I get reasonable warnings and I test more than I probably need to. It's just the after effects they just seem very long and feel rottenWhat did you have in the Panini Roll, as you know fats like cheese and mayo can delay the absorption of the meal and given that you bolused 20 mins early your insulin may have peaked too soon.
Other than that its maybe time to review your basal rates.
No I haven't gone back to old pump the DSN wanted me to try NovaRapid before I started using the insight they've got me.2-3 hours after eating is mormally the bolus...?
You say you gone back to
Old pump.... So are you using previous settings? Just that a lot can change just in a week.. Let alone longer....so you would really need to start with basal testing again.
Oh right I got a bit confused SorryWhat I meant is:
If high or low 2-3 hours after having a bolus then in general the first thing to consider would be the bolus ratio rather than the basal.
Yes I'd already looked at info and you yourself had posted about it a while bad that's obviously the reason for trying NovaRapid first, I just suppose in a mad moment I was thinking it would be swap insulin no problem and away I go, I think I'll get through tomorrow and on Monday review my basal rate and carb/insulin ratios etcCurrently you can only use the Insight with Novorapid as they are the only company that have committed to making preloaded cartridges for it.
Unfortunately self filling cartridges have currently been withdrawn as Accuchek found problems with them that they are addressing with the manyfacturer of the cartridges.
So, currently it is
Novorapid or nothing on Insight pump.
I think
The differences will be because novorapud acts differently to the humalog. So its not your body but the insulins... Your DSN is spot on to get you to swap before Insight.. Due to it being Novorapid or nothing!
I believe the DSN has it now but there was queries at the chemist about the changed in insulin which I've now obviously sorted I've got NovaRapid 3ml for my current pump and what seem diddly little cartridges for the insight "just can't believe how small they look"Worth while doing all you say because then all you will have to worry about is the workings of the new pump....the cartridge loading system is brilliant...absolutely superb. So quick compared to having to self fill them.
Good luck on Insight. When do you get it?

I have seen basal testing a lot on this thread and others.
How do you do it?
Why do we need to do it?
Thanks
Really useful info sheets started basal testing this morningThis explains how to do the test:
