CHEESE!!!
OK so my DSN after visiting this morning wants to swap me from Novarapid to apidra.

I currently work on 1 / 10 carbs throughout the day, and my post prandrial readign on novarapid are usually 7 - 9mm/ol if im to get a good 5 - 6 reading before meals.

She has recomended that I reduce my insulin by 25% so 1 / 12.5 too begin with.

I think the reason for the change is overlapping doses and unexplained hypos, only explained by the tail of nova?

Has anyone else got experience of making this change and how they got on, and what changes they needed to make??

I'll 'bump' your post up for you Benny in the hope that someone may help you, I've never used Apidra but believe it is slightly faster at working than Novorapid, the insulin profile for Apidra is 3 hours as opposed to Novorapid which is 5 hours.

Yes Apridra is faster burning out the system than other insulins,

It starts kicking in about 10-15 minutes after it's injected, the peaks slightly earlier than humalog/novorapid then burns itself out by about the 3 hour mark..

Sorry, I have not used it so limited to advise for change over, but if it was me then I would check at BG every hour up until the 4 hour mark, so I could establish how it's working in my system
