Hi, does any one think that because novo rapid is made in vast quantities, sometimes you get a vial that is stronger than previous ones, I say this as I took my usual dose with my evening meal, and my blood sugars dropped like a log ( 2.8 a 3s)and I was struggling to get it up to a reasonable let before bed. Has anyone experienced this I was having to constantly drink coke , and it was not that I had to much insulin and not enough food, in fact I think I ate more than usual. It wasn't until about 4am, that things started to get comfortable before I went to sleep, and when I got up my sugars were around 8. Any ideas ??

Hi. I think it's highly unlikely but if the insulin has not been stored below 8 deg C before use then it may be weaker than it should be.

No I take lantus at 10.20 in evening

I don't think that's the case.

Around 18 months ago I had a similar experience to yourself, bg level dropped like a stone whilst I was eating my evening meal, it's the first time that I thought I might not be able to treat the hypo myself but managed to after drinking a small can of Coke. Insulin can absorb at different rates (especially if you have lipo issues) and I just think on some occasions it absorbs too fast and catches us out.
