Novorapid Echo Refills

Been to docs tonight to get them to prescribe an Echo pen, no problem and agreed to it (didn't seem to have a clue what I was on about anyway). found the pen on her drop down menu, but when I explained I would need the insulin to go in it, she was completely flummoxed, couldn't find it on her drop down menu and as it was late on a Friday afternoon had no-one to ask. So I left with a prescription for a shiny new pen but no insulin to put in it. I've got the flu jab tomorrow morning so will try and sort it then. Can anyone tell me the official name of the cartridges , obviously for bolus, so I know exactly what to ask for tomorrow. Cheers!
 
As far as I know the penfill cartridges are what you need

Are you already using a Novopen? The Echo uses the same cartridges and needles as my older pens.
 
I just changed to a nova echo from the nova pen , the nova echo that I now use uses 3ml cartridges of nova rapid, double check what cartridge is needed, also I not sure how your surgery works but I needed a to pick up a prescription that GP had issued on Friday told I could collect it sat morning as I was booked in for flu jab, I asked when I arrived if I could collect prescription was told no by the nurse at surgery . They were only dealing with only flu jabs today, no one was available to sort any queries out and come back on Monday, so hope it will get sorted for you .as for needles I was able to use the same ones that fitted my old pen.

Hope you find better control with the Echo, I've found the half unit coming in handy a few times.
 

You were right Nicky, no doctors, just the flu clinic, even though the doc said to sort it sat morning. Try again Monday. These GPs do my head in!!
