NPH insulin

How many times per day can you take this type of insulin. I used to take four times but doctor says I should only take three times. Can anyone clarify. Thanks.

Nph on it's own is meant to be used twice a day. If it's a mixed insulin then again twice a day. NPH on it's own is a basal (background) insulin not meant to be used for blousing for food.

Sorry I gave the wrong insulin in previous message, should have been Novolin Toronto. Sorry was at the drug store when I sent message.

Then perhaps do a google search for it as this is a UK forum and that insulin isn't available here. I would suspect it's one of the older insulin's that has a duration of anything between 6 and 8 hours. Between animal and the newer analogue insulin's. It's only a guess though.
