Hi, welcoome to the forum. What type of diabetes do you have?

Read the link in my signature.

Hi @Jack64 , and welcome to the forum!
May I ask what type of diabetes do you have and are you on medication?

You might find this informative piece for new members useful:https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/basic-information-for-newly-diagnosed-diabetics.17088/

Basically, all carbs get converted to glucose in your blood. You woke up on the high side and added more quick acting carbs with the cereal. And then added more carbs with the sandwich. All of this is expected to make your blood glucose go up.

Please tell us a bit more about yourself and ask some more questions, people on the forum will be
happy to help you out :)
