Hi all I'm a very active 25yr old male. Reasonably good but as always not the best control. I get these waves of numbness and pins and needles like feelings in my legs, sometimes it feels as though I'm losing my balance.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hey there.

Could be anything really, don't just assume the worst. Could be a trapped nerve or something. As always, best get to the GP ASAP ;)

I reported similar symptoms at my annual diabetes review.

The nurse did the usual pulse checks on my feet and then carried out a ultra sound check on my legs just to prove that the circulation through the veins was good, which it was.

She thinks the symptoms are more inclined towards sciatica as the pins, needles and numbness were evidenced in the thigh muscles. She left me to monitor it and if it worsened make an appointment with my GP. It hasn't gone either way so I'm still plodding on with it.

If it's really worrying you, then make an appointment to see your GP and let them sort it out for you.

Hi I get numbness and pins and needles feelings from my thighs down my right leg, left leg ok seems to come on if I am stood on a hard floor for a while with no carpet. Doctor says it is a sign of sciatica have had it for a while now, even before I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you are then go back to your doctor. Hope thi:)s helps
