I was in tesco last night doing the shopping ready to take back to Italy (wife and sons list) and was looking at NUTS.. (on the shelves in packets) and they seemed high in carbs. What Nuts can I eat and please keep the answers clean...
Walnuts, almonds, macadamia etc. Peanuts aren't nuts, they are a legume. They grow underground so if it follows that we should only eat veg that grows above ground, peanuts are not to be enjoyed.
We've been snacking on peanuts because the carb counts on the packs are quite low. They aren't low fat if you choose roasted or dry roasted, but about 2g carbs in an ounce. Subtract the fibre and the carb count comes down even lower, as it does for all nuts. I think chestnuts are the worst nuts to eat - very high carb count per 100g and not a very high fibre count to subtract either.
