AZ Covid left me feeling awful, a bit of pain, just problems functioning. I spent a few days in my Husband's specialist riser recliner chair while his carers did all the looking after him and got me drinks too. Sending sympathy for that problem. I've had some interesting medical 'professional help' recently, although some of yours and other members sound even worse. I've recently had a couple of presents from the surgery, 2 packs of metformin. Not asked for or offered, just arrived. Hb1Ac has been within range for months, only slight rise, with fasting glucose rise for a few days, when I had stomach pain following densosamb jab. I have low calcium and osteoporosis. I phoned the surgery when the second pack of metformin arrived. I'd stopped it before due to side effects. Why was it restarted! Also told by osteoporosis nurse specialist that with my calcium levels I should be on double the calcium supplement dose, not what has been dispensed. So I have been told to email the dispensary requesting what we both need, and see if it arrives or a gp stops it. (My Husbands regular neurological medication was blocked by unknown gp last time.) My diabetes has always been diet controlled and I had regular yearly checks with the Diabetic nurse. I can speak to a gp in a fortnight, (booked soonest slot) and I'm not taking something for high blood sugar when it is around 6mmol/litre just because medication appears with no warning. Some people just do not realise we are humans, and we might just use our brains and check the internet for information. (with caution, ! always check where that information is from,) I want evidence! At least to be told what is going on. Do they just think or hope we are too stupid to think so won't have any questions, just obey. Sorry, I was brought up to ask questions. As an extra, dietician is apparently going to explain to me what my Husband can eat. Emailed person who has booked them. He's had assessments from SALT in hospital and home visit (Speech and Language - he has a swallowing problem) Already meal replacements, leaflets from Hospital from when he had aspiration pneumonia, Lots of info from the Huntingtons Association. Mince and moist food, no hard bits, no skins, no nuts, and always thickened fluids, What do they think he lives on? End of my rant, Carol
