Okay I might get shot but here goes

Good post Sugarless Sue, thank you - I wish your post, the message of it would jump out first the moment we access this site/log in.

At what point does a newbie become a regular then an old timer? I joined at the end of March, got stuck straight in - prompted by genuine curiosity - and got my head bitten off almost straight away! There are still people I won't engage in debates with, and studiously avoid posting anywhere near them, so I haven't cracked this particular nut yet either!

Hmmmm good question....I am afraid for once in my life I am stuck for an answer, at what point are we turning into old timers?
But please just let me say to you that I hope that you will never be afraid of posting near me or avoiding me, and you should not be afraid of posting/engaging with others either, this is not what this forum is about, nobody should be scared of being shot down by anyone.

From your signature I can see that you are probably very ill, 'kidney/pancreas transplant', so I hope all goes well for you.

All the best

Thanks Karen, it's not fear that prevents me from posting, I just can't be bothered with the manner of expression employed by some, very boring and predictable, I have better things to do! But if I can add an alternative perspective to a discussion, then...

My signature does look a bit scary, fortunately I'm not that ill as it happens, just paying now for a reckless youth! My GFR is 40, so will be on the waiting list for a kidney within 2 years. Pancreas just makes sense at the same time - quality of organs is much higher, the waiting list is much shorter, a lower risk of rejection and I no longer have diabetes, so it would be rude not to really! :D

Oh thank goodness you are not as ill as I feared you are, but still I hope it all goes really well for you and hey I am carrying a donor card with me, you just never know (hey did you know that some people who have had transplants report that they have taken on some bits of the donors personality??? Hmmm if this is really happening maybe it would be kinder for me to destroy my donor card, would anyone really want to be bonkers like I am???)

Wishing you absolutely everything that you wish for yourself

Karen x

Organs for "The Double" are harvested from a single person, and with great respect Karen I don't think your pancreas would be much use to me!!!

I read about the personality thing, some of my friends might say "about time too"! The rudeness...
