Old strips/New strips

Some weeks ago I posted a thread about using out of date strips in my Freestyle Optium Neo meter.

Today I received some new strips with plenty of date left on them so I could do a direct comparision:-

Strips that ran out 07/17 6.1
New strips 7.1

A whole point difference, same blood, same finger, same time

Is this what other people find that have used old strips in the past ?

The strips are only accurate to about 15% anyway so maybe old and new were both ok. Having said that I would expect strips to read lower as they get older and the enzyme doesn't work as well.
