Old Type BG Levels?

When I was first diagnosed in the very early 80s,
I am certain the target levels were 3.9 to 6.7, I'm convinced that is in the old books( were every they are)
the figure NOW is between 4 to 7,which has been a bit more qualified as opposed to the straight Two figure.
It's the early figures I'm interested in.
If I am correct when approximately did they move upwards?
I appreciate it is not a large movement

As far as I know, in the 80's any doctor was happy to have diabetics numbers below 10. Or are you talking about normal numbers for non-diabetics?

I was diagnosed in the late 70's and was told that ideal blood sugars were between 4 and 7. When I started blood testing in 1982 I was told to aim for between 4 and 7 before meals.
The only change to that, since then, is that my target is now between 6 and 8, due to my sensitivity to insulin
