Hi everyone, I’ve been reading the blogs on Keto and low carb diets. I’ve tried keto for a week and felt great a fret the first couple of days, no heartburn ,no headaches, not bloated. Life savers are peanut butter and baby belles (mini Edam cheese). Can someone tell me what OMAD means please? I saw it on a thread and can work out what it is!
Thanks G

Glad to know it is going well so far.

One Meal A Day (OMAD) is a form of fasting. You effectively fast for about 23 hours in a 24 hour period.

It can help to know which part of the day your natural insulin is most effective.
I find that my BG rises in the morning whatever I do but I get a better insulin response in the afternoon.

Thanks for your reply little grey cat . It sounds quite a scary thing to do OMDA! I’m 67 and feel like I’ve had reactive hypoglycaemia since puberty! I was a very fussy eater as a child and lived on sweets when I could get the money ! Have been on the LCHF diet for 3 weeks and love the way I feel now, am losing weight and not getting ravenously hungry anymore , I used to carry biscuits and glucose tablets in my handbag now it’s nuts and cheese and I feel more relaxed as I used to panic about getting low blood sugar then if I didn’t eat something sweet I’d get a migraine.
