Ive had the omnipod 5 since early December and ive been on automated mode.
I spike so high every day 2/3 hours after eating every single day and im tired of it.
Im told to just leave it and let the pump so its thing bit im spiking from 11-23 every single day. Like clockwork 2 hours after eating.

Ive put my carb ratios up but now im having hypos half an hour after eating and still spiking 2 hours after.

Ive upped my Basal but it does nothings as its automated.

Im on fiasp and wait 5-10mins before eating.

My hospital doesnt do the extended bolus thing on the pump. They just said they dont do that part of it and never taught me how to use it. So its not turned on.

I dont know what to do. Im so tired of spiking every day.

Hi DapherCake

I am also an Omnipod 5 / Dexcom G7 closed loop user. I started using in Jan 2025. I have found it has taken the algorithm a long time to learn me. I have had similar issues to yourself. What helped was adjusting the correction factor. I am not sure if that would help you but it might be worth investigating this with your pump team.

Hope you can find a solution to this problem.

Extended bolus is very easy to try. I suspect it won't make a huge difference, but you just toggle it in settings -> bolus -> extended bolus. It takes a few minutes to put a larger dose in (eg 15u).

If you're crashing after food then going up later, would changing to dosing later help? Eg with food or even 10-30 mins later rather than 5-10 mins earlier?
