Hi everyone. I currently have omnipod dash with dexcom one+. Im really trying hard to get my blood sugars really optimised preconception as i want to try for pregnancy soon. Ive had the omnipod dash for 3 years now. Is it possible for the diabetes team to upgrade me to the omnipod 5 even though my warranty isnt finished as i know closed loop would really help me optimise blood sugar. I would ask for the libre 2+ with the omnipod 5 so the sensor aspect part of it will still be prescription based. Any advice would be appreciated especially from those whose omnipod was upgraded within the 4 years period.

The current NICE guidelines do state there is a phased implementation of rollout of hybrid closed loop systems which does include people who are pregnant/trying to become pregnant. Your best bet though would be to ask your diabetes team in regards to this as they're the only ones who can really answer as to whether you'll be able to upgrade to one even though your current pumps warranty isn't up yet.
