I watched that. It's so sad that young diabetic women will stop taking insulin to lose weight despite the serious medical complications that are likely to result.
 
@lovinglife congratulations on your dieting success, I wish I could get so motivated and get rid of some excess from my bones, success showing your determination. and @Prem51 I also watched that program and I was crunching my toes while she said what she wanted to do, but I also understand how frustrated she felt, at the side effects the medication and the insulin was having on her body. The situation is one of which way to go, and how to achieve the wanted goals. As we all know the medication does put weight on a person, and how do you get the pounds off, Gliclazide is a weight adder, and even metformin has it's side effects, maybe the manufacturers need to develop a drug that does not have the side effect of putting weight onto a diabetic, they say excess weight is what causes it and even the drugs make the problem worse, bit like going around the round about all the time. ttfn from Karen
