Absoultly brilliant!!! And this is the attitude all T2s should be taking if they are really serious about helping themselves. Everyone is different tigerlilly, but as long as I can keep my BG levels within the boundries I will refuse to go on medication. Even if you are outside the recomended levels, I would suggest at least give yourself 6 months to try and control it with diet and excercise. Again everyone is different, but I eat plenty of animal or saturated fat, eat very few carbs, and also watch how much fruit I eat, and which sort of fruit and the same with vegtables. I myself may be diabetic. I've another appointment with my GP next week for another fasting blood test to see if I am. My 1st test in early Oct came back at 7.7.
I've already made changes to my diet - trying to do low carb (GI Diet), cut out foods high in fat, reduced salt (I also have high blood pressure) and eating LOTS more fruit and veg.
After almost 3wks I've lost 9lb! And it is hard but wow you've just given me the motivation to stick at it.
I really don't know what will happen with me - whether I will be put onto tablets if I am diabetic, but I hope to control it with diet.
