Hi I have been diagnosed with Type 2 for nearly two years, and despite being 48 have started to suffer with ED. I am sure some of the issues were in my mind too, fear of disapointing my partner etc. anyhow, I plucked up the courage to mention this to the nurse at my last appointment and she gave me Cialis which works fine as long as you know when you are going to need it. But some how takes the spontanatity out of your sex life.

I read an article from the US about once a day Cialis, much lower dose and a daily tablet, been on it now for two weeks and it has been amazing. The doctoir initially told me it was not available but after checking all the systems he found it (2.5 mg dosage) and after some research prescribed it so no more 4 tablets a month problems.

I am a little concerned over long term affects and would appreciate any thoughts from anyone who has any experience.

ED is common in diabetics, but most clinics wait for the patients to bring up the subject, where I believe they should ask all male patients about it at every annual review. If they're too shy, A tick box sheet would be better than nothing.
However, Keeping TIGHT bgs can minimise it. That's around 5 as much of the time as possible.

You are showing off because your still getting some

How many can you get prescribed per month on the daily dose?

I guess my main concern would be taking them daily, is will you get used to them and end up having to up the dose.

The official line is ......

This medicine should not be taken more than once a day, and it is strongly recommended that you don't use it every day. This is because the long-term safety of using this medicine every day for long periods of time has not been established, and also because the effect usually lasts for longer than one day.

Hi,
I just posted a reply to "Is diabetes causing erectile dysfunction?" about my experience with Cialis and the generic version, Tadalafil.

I have been taking 10mg, on an irregular basis, no more than twice a week at 2 to 3 day intervals for about 2 years or so. I believe the drug can build up in the body so you cannot take even 10mg every day... not that I need to because its effect last up to 3 days anyway.

My supplies are all bought privately and quite cheaply through an online pharmacy. I was diagnosed T2 a few months ago. Controlled by reduced carb diet. Also take medication for hypertension inc aspirin and simvastatin.
