Once a pump has been ordered...

Generally how long does it take to come?

I saw my DSN two weeks ago this Monday, and she said she would order by pump that day and I should have it delivered to my home either by the end of that week or early the following week. I was to ring them when it arrived, so they could schedule my appointment to come in and train for it.

Two days later, had a phone call from the other DSN who confirmed my pump had been ordered and that I should have it within a week and that I don't need to call them as my appointment has been set for 2nd March.

Suffice to say, pumpy still hasn't made his debut two weeks later. I found an old thread where people had been waiting a month or more for their pump to arrive after it had been ordered, but the DSN's did specify I should be waiting no longer than a week.

Is this typical, does anyone know?

Oh as your now a loyal customer to a pump company it won't hurt to give them a call yourself, I don't kno about other people I order most things from the company and deal directly with them, there might be a slight glitch somewhere

Thanks

Was going to give my clinic a ring if it's still not arrived by Monday as this time is meant for me to have a play about with it before 2nd March (or so I was told), so didn't know whether I might need my appointment put back.

Ring the pump company up and enquire when it will be delivered. Once they find you on their database, they should be able to tell you what is happening.

Well, I rang the pump company and they found me on the database and informed me that the order for my pump has been cancelled!!!

They had no further info. Trying to get through to my clinic now, but DSN who ordered it is off sick!

I'm waiting to get a call back form my clinic. The only thing the lady from the pump company said is that there could have been some problem or issue with the funding/pricing and that it's possible my clinic may be putting another order in, she was just guessing, though.

My appointment next week has not been cancelled, so just need to speak to them to found out what's happening.

Well, consultant DSN just rang me back. She sounded shocked when I told her the pump company said the order had been cancelled and has no clue what has happened. Said it's the other DSN (who is off sick) deals with the pumps. Said my Monday appointment would have been cancelled anyway if my pump hasn't come and then couldn't seem to get me off the phone quick enough because she's bogged down at the moment because other DSN is off. Wants me to call her Friday for some reason to let me know what the latest is (it's been cancelled, what exactly can I do about that?) and she will see what she can find out.

SO disappointed :(

My pump arrived!!! :)

Literally two days after calling the company and them telling me it had been cancelled, it showed up just like that. Thank you to the posters who advised I ring the company because if I think if I hadn't then I would still be waiting in limbo.

Just have to wait foe DSN to come back off sick leave now, though, and a new appointment made to get started.

I've been having a little go of wearing it (unattached obvs) clipped onto my pants or in a pouch around me arms/legs and sleeping with it on,
